One of the most neglected areas of lawn care is thatch removal. Thatch is a layer of dead grass and debris that forms at the surface of a lawn’s soil. If not maintained, the thatch can become very thick, preventing water, nutrients and oxygen from reaching the root system. A lawn dethatcher or power rake is typically used to remove it.
