Outdoor art allows for creative expression anyone outside of the home. Art of this type is different from the kinds kept indoors in that the pieces are built to last in outdoor environments, yet still maintain an air of beauty. Outdoor art comes in an abundance of forms. Ground based art can come in the form of a statue or artificial rock. Wall based art could be a metal panorama or a fabric canvas. Various outdoor lights could also be considered art, especially things like rippled glass spheres and flowers.

Outdoor metal art is popular for its ability to stand the test of time. Metal artwork can be crafted out of steel, aluminum and even wrought iron. The metal used in this art is commonly coated in paint in order to protect it. This paint is decorative and can have interesting textures. The most distinguishable type of metal art is crafted in the form of a sun or moon. Sun wall art features a pleasant looking sun which has a face in the middle. Suns and moon are often paired together. Floral metal art is also highly sought after. Square or rectangular pieces of wire are bonded together through the process of welding. Then, various metal leaves and flowers are added. Colors can range from bright copper to a more subtle patina.

Outdoor wall art can also come in the form of a canvas. This type of outdoor art closely resembles the picture frames we have inside our homes. A canvas is a thick piece of frameless art which is made by printing a picture onto a layer of canvas fabric. The result is a highly textured piece of art which can easily fill in the blank spaces on exterior walls. The picture can be anything from a beach scene or your favorite car. While most canvases are pre-made, some companies can put any picture you want onto it.

What good is your outdoor art if it cannot be seen? Many outdoor lights can function both as a light and a piece of art. Glass orbs are one such kind. A glass orb is crafted in any number of colors and often has a rippled pattern. The orbs have a light inside which shines through, creating a surreal glow. Orbs sit on stakes which can be pressed into the ground anywhere in the yard. They have an even more impressive effect when lined up together.
